What if your first IDE was blue on blue? (Wonderful nostalgia-inducing photo of a C64 and 1702 display from )

Happiness is a cheesy assembler for the weird domain-specific processor in your test harness so you don't have to remember the instruction encodings...

You can't vote to overthrow the rule of law, granting the President authority to commit whatever crimes at will, and then have any ground to demand a certain decorum from people when they protest.

The Senate just set fire to the Constitution and said to hell with the rule of law, but I guarantee you folks will still be calling for civility and decorum from protesters.

Head shaking serious columnists. If one side votes essentially along party lines to do the right thing and one party votes to prevent it, that doesn’t mean the process is sadly partisan. It means one party is bad. (Cont’d)

Now that Cipollone has been implicated as fact witness in Trump's scheme, House managers should ask Roberts to remove him from Trump's team and let them cross examine him, law prof Stephen Gillers tells us. How this would work, from and me:

Probably wishful thinking. Especially since none of the already damning evidence and further revelations have managed to shift the cowardly GOP.

It is notable that nobody is arguing Trump is not guilty because of course he is. The Republicans simply don't give a shit.

You know, I *knew* they consider the rule of law a joke, but it still enrages me. Fuck the GOP. Fuck every goddamn Republican. May we live to shit on their graves and the grave of their corrupt, anti-rule-of-law, anti-humanity, anti-science, anti-facts, anti-basic-decency party.

You cannot be acquitted if you don’t have a trial. You don’t have a trial if you don’t have witnesses and documentation. If Republican Senators choose a cover-up, the American people and history will judge it with the harshness it deserves.

There is no solution to this but to vote every last cowardly, complicit, lawless Republican out of office. These worthless fuckers are so committed to self-enrichment and power at any cost that for the good of the country they must be denied any access to it in the future.

I’m not sure the GOP has thought through their argument that it’s *completely* fine for presidential candidates to seek help from foreign governments, when the vast majority of foreign governments don’t like or trust the current GOP president who’s up for re-election this fall.

So, , thoughts about the tailscale requirement for a 3rd party identity provider? I mean I get the usefulness, but on the other hand, if Google decides to disable my account, my VPN(-ish thing?) vaporizes? That seems unfortunate.

This is perhaps one of the most wild things I’ve ever seen, having United States Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts read into the record Trump’s Access Hollywood comments: “When you're a star, they let you do it. You can do anything.”

That is a good question. Pity Collins and Murkowski will find a way to vote to acquit in the end, like the rest of the cowardly and complicit GOP...

so if i am understanding correctly, a fair process should happen neither in public nor behind closed doors, not with witnesses nor without witnesses, quickly but in due time, neither by day nor by night

Whee. Successful readback on hardware. Turns out my simulated device is fine but I forgot that synthesys tools consider things like "hdl/sdram/sdram_glue_ecp5.sv:44: Warning: Range select out of bounds on signal `\data_oe': Setting result bit to undef." to be merely a "warning."

Once I'm reliably reading/writing data, it'll be fun making this thing fast, smart about multiple banks, etc. Right now, similar to starting first cut drivers in PIO mode before sorting out DMA, the battle cry is "burst length one and auto-precharge for the win!"
