    This is the emissions trajectory required for 1.5C. Question for : Is there *any* technology that can be deployed fast enough to achieve this, or are we at a point where only radical reductions in energy use can meet this trajectory at least in the short term?

    Do the planet a favour. Fly more and double the offset to make your flight carbon negative. You know it makes sense.

    If offsetting a flight to Oz by paying $50 really works then I'd gladly pay $100 to make my flight carbon negative. Flying more would then be the pathway to Net Zero. Clearly nonsense. Offering offsetts at this price is very misleading.

    Majority support for a Adam Bandt's 'Green New Deal' or Barnaby Joyce's 'More coal + nukes' vision is unlikely. There has to be compromise at both extremes and a coming together at the centre.

    If you wanted to build a centrist coalition for climate action, getting LNP moderates on board who support both renewables and nuclear would be the place to start.

    Long haul electric flight is never going to happen. You can quote me on that. I might be wrong (eventually) but I'll long dead.

    The UK's experience contradicts 's assertion. Australia will need a lot of storage to avoid burning more gas, and progress on pumped hydro in particular has been glacial. Batteries are unlikely to supply significant storage capacity for the foreseeable future.
