There is going to be a lot of reflection in the next few days, but it really has to be stressed that opposition leaders across the world are nearly all struggling. Vax bonus is a big factor, not the only one but it is there.

This account sent me sexualised messages about whether Mary Lou McDonald “turned me on”, the size of my arse and called me a terrorist from the month I started at the Examiner. Since then, I’ve had to go to counselling and the guards.

It's been 16 years since Labour last won an overall majority in a UK General Election. There will be people voting at the next election who will have no memory of Labour in power.

Constituency is simple FPTP win. List is a formula related to how well a party do in the constituencies. It's meant to allow more plurality. This is why SNP dominate constituency reps, but only hold 4 list seats.

Additional Member System-What is it? A voter gets two votes. One for a constituency rep and another for the regional list. Constituency you vote for a person & list you vote for a party. Voters mark an X on both ballots. You can vote for SNP on one ballot and Green on other.

There's nothing more depressing than low turnout at elections. I'll say it once and over again, voting should be compulsory with a none of the above option on the ballot. At our last local elections some councillors were elected on turnouts of under 45%.
