Malcolm Turnbull confirms big business tax cuts are now dead, and will not be taken to the next election.
He has also abandoned plans to axe an energy supplement paid to welfare recipients, which has been blocked in the Senate for several years.

Mr Turnbull and Treasurer Scott Morrison also rubbished rival Peter Dutton's idea to remove GST from electricity bills. "That would be a budget blower, an absolute budget blower," Mr Morrison told reporters. He estimates it would costs the states $7.5 billion in lost revenues.
