With all this caucus chaos, I'm happy to live in Washington, where we vote by mail at our leisure, and everyone knows it'll take a few days for all the results to trickle in. No rush.

On February 20, the Washington Supreme Court will be hearing arguments at . In advance of that event, I decided to preview the three cases being argued. Here's my first post, previewing State v. Escalante, a case about Miranda at the border.

This is a pretty interesting case. I, on the other hand, am more than happy to share my opinion, which is that being detained at the border without your passport and subject to a pat-down if you want to use the bathroom is on the totality of the circumstances custody.

This is all really good advice. If you're a 1L, you're now in the middle of your second go of it. You've received your first grades and now you're taking new classes. Now is a good time to reflect on your approach. What's working? What isn't? Take a step back and reflect.
