The Disability Justice Network of Ontario is deeply concerned about the recent changes to Ontario's social assistance programs. We stand in solidarity with the participants of the Basic Income Pilot Project and with the organizing occuring against these cuts #onpoli #BasicIncomepic.twitter.com/sVBrXTZ3PX

I'm given to understand that the PCs also nixed a plan to increase the take home before ODSP clawback to $200/month to $400/month?

Correct. Allowable earnings before clawback were scheduled to go from $200/mo to $400, along with a host of other positive changes, but the PC's "pressed the pause button" on all of it. You know. For the people. #WeAreThePeople #fixODSP #EndTheStigmahttps://twitter.com/derekthebard/status/1028357005172387845 …

This would have been a huge positive change for those on ODSP who are working or have family members who work. It also would have been a greater incentive for non-working ODSP recipients to seek some type of employment. This is regression, plain and simple.

100% agree. The more money you can keep of what you earn, the more incentive there is to find a part time position. That’s the equivalent of 7-8 hours per week.

Unfortunately the system is overwrought with scammers & incompetent employees... now the ppl who need our support won't be receiving it. Be mad at the scammers not at @fordnation , he's trying to fix it.

I was chosen to participate in BI. I have epilepsy, was on ODSP, and barely surviving. After I received my first BI money, I started eating fresh fruit and vegetables (locally produced), which helped lessen my seizure frequency. I planned on going to school. Now, BI is gone. :(
