No. As the liberal system progressively removes unprincipled exceptions and stabilizes into pure antinomianism, the ruling class becomes increasingly unhinged because 1. they are ALSO formed by state-sponsored policy and 2. the cognitive dissonance increases.

We saw Podesta, for instance, writing emails about how he's organizing a grass roots "Catholic Spring" movement. The people this system requires as it expunges the last vestiges of pre-liberalism have to be crazier every year, and so they are.

Ah. Now I'm sure. What you are describing is a positive feedback loop. Negative feedback provides homeostasis, while positive feedback disrupts it. It has nothing to do with affect.
