My intuition is still not 100% convinced that California is a real part of earth. Whenever I go out there, the way the sunlight falls looks like a glitch in some kind of large-scale 3D rendering software. What if it’s a part of our simulation which has slightly different rules...
I really want to understand quality of light. I notice it everywhere I go, and it doesn't seem to reduce to latitude+elevation+season. So what is it?
