If I don't think something is a compliment, then I will absolutely point that out. Telling me I don't need to wear makeup implies that they think I wear it because I think I need it, which means I am not comfortable in my skin without it. That doesn't compliment me.
You don't understand the rationale, because it doesn't happen to you dude. So you shouldn't try to mock how I feel or belittle my rationale, because you don't understand. I appreciate comments like 'you're beautiful, with or without makeup' but being told that I shouldn't wear-

- makeup because I don't need it just is not a compliment. I am free to express myself in whatever way I want to, and while I am comfortable in my own skin, I love and enjoy makeup and it means much more to me than something that is supposed to make me look good.

It's not like I'm damning these people to hell, what's wrong with me explaining that it's not a compliment to many women and that there are better ways to compliment people? :)
