Feel free to be honest. This wasn't a tweet written to garner only support for. I just wanted to hear honest opinion about anonymity on the Internet causing toxicity and hateful speech.

Not sure how anyone could say no to this? Someone did something... who else is going to be accountable??

As in, people who shit post and write hate in online comments etc, is it wrong to report those people to their workplace etc?

In Korea, everyone is assigned an ID number and that links to everything including your online presence. If it's banned, then you simply can't make a new account.

Socially? Maybe. Depends on what they actually did/said. Legally? Hell no. Legal punishment for words would be extremely evil and purely Hitlerian

Legal punishment for words already exists. Hate speech, cyber bullying etc..

Anonymity is not and has never been a condition of free speech.

While I am all for freedom of speech it does have exclusions (hate speech) and only protects against govt intervention. But it's not a simple for or against but very nuanced situation that needs deep consideration

I think it’s pretty bad that people can try to ruin your carrier by donating inappropriate links and hoping you watch it and get banned. Same for links in chat. In any other carrier you would go to court for trying to sabotage.

I don’t think there’s anything we can do about it anytime soon and I see it as one of the downsides of streaming which is such a privilege to do. However Germany already has laws where online behaviour can have consequences. Hope you don’t take the harassment too seriously!
