And if we defend ourselves or speak up about it we are "triggered, toxic, salty" etc. Why is ignoring it the only acceptable behaviour in peoples eyes? "You put yourself in a public position, you are supposed to just be positive and let everyone say whatever they want to you"

For most of the time I like when women stand up against men who are ignorant and rude, but you’re fighting against people who are fundamentally stupid. It’s like talking to a brick wall, what you say won’t change them, nor will it inspire others to not treat you in that way

So I think when people say “just ignore them” really they’re just saying there is no use in trying to change someone who is that moronic.
