      From my understanding, the mobile app has an autofollow feature for streams you MAY like - however using vodcast you're eligible to this-

      -feature. So just replaying a popular game on your channel can yield to a lot of followers despite not being live.

      Yeah, it'll ask you to select 3 games the follow you 3 streamers from each game. Some seem to get thousands of follows a day, others, none.

      Agreed. It also isn't 'random' like staff say and that's not fair. I have plenty of examples of consistent growth for some, none for others.
