you're going to spend a lot more for a camcorder with the same quality as a simple nice lens on a DSLR tho. imo DSLR>

What do you mean? A DSLR plus lense is a way bigger investment than a camcorder.

I said if u want the same quality. Cheap camcorders dont have good lenses or stats until u start shellin out $ you'll get a glorified webcam

I used camcorders too, switched to DSLR bc of the cinematic quality. t3i + sigma 30mm was less $ than a $2-3k camcorder with a worse lens

ultimately it's up to you - if you don't care about having super high quality & just want a bump up from webcam them do a camcorder
