If you can do liveview through the HDMI out on it, if you can then yeah. I setup my Nikon DSLR to my capture card and it works :D

yes, but photo cams aren't supposed to be used as a web cam. It wears out the sensor. But it's possible. It's a pain to set up.

I did use it one time ! It works! Just might overheat so make sure there is a fan by it. :) but you generally don't want to use -

it doesn't need to be; even lossy compression can reveal the benefits of deeper dynamic range, and finer optics

add on top of that the ability to use a nice wide angle lens with a large aperture for a narrow DoF and fine bokeh
