Everyone: Posting blacked out images to Instagram to show support My dumb ass: What's happened to Instagram, did their image hosting go down?

It just seems counterintuitive to me. I understand not posting anything personal and just posting/rting relevant posts or donation links, but posting a black square and disappearing off social media for the day? How is that helpful
I suppose on one hand it creates conversation about an important topic, it is a declaration to cleanse sm for a day to focus on what matters, but on the other hand can potentially erase important resources when posted with incorrect tags. It's a weird one for sure.
