I'm Canadian. We call it shepards pie even with ground beef. Idc what name you call it. Quebec has a name for it too. I'm sure there's 20 interchangeable names for it. AND I WILL KEEP CALLING IT THAT SO FUCK OFF 
Ah that's so strange! The UK calls it with beef - cottage and with lamb, Shepherd! Though it's traditionally considered a British staple, I have to admit I don't really like either.
