Being controversial =/= hurting people. She apologised, just because you don't like her business model doesn't change that. We're all human and sometimes we say dumb stuff, but we are capable of learning and growing.
She said something dumb and when she had an opportunity she doubled down. She's not apologizing because she made a mistake, she's apologizing because it's costing her money.
If you live in a world where genuinely people can't apologise for an off the cuff joke that didn't go down well, then that must be pretty sad. Have you never said or done anything you regret?
