Not this one, we did consider just trying to hold it back up but it was fairly shredded from the sheer weight of a cat falling directly on it.
Place the cactus in just enough soil that it can stand upright on its own. Then water the soil to the point it is barely moist, after that repeat the second step often and time will tell. From a son whose mother has had cactus gardens for 20+ years lol.
Also should be mentioned that the soil that you are going to use should be similar to the soil the rest of the cactus is used to. Learned that plants have a rough time adapting to new soil when planting cuttings.
For a second I thought you meant some random lady had just gotten into your house and attacked the cactus lmao
All you need is a knife and a straw. Take the straw and stick it in the middle of the cactus where the roots are about an inch into it and take out the core then do the same thing to the severed one but dont take the straw out but cut about a half inch off the bottom...
Cut all the way down to the straw and remove it...now take the straw out and put the cactus back together and leave it alone...the cactus will heal fater that way
Heres the best article I could find for you. Good news is that propagation is easy...bad news it's also easy to mess up by overwateringhttps://www.hunker.com/13426562/if-a-cactus-breaks-off-how-do-i-plant-the-broken-piece …
