The straw ban is dumb and hurts disabled people who genuinely need them. If you want to save the damn oceans, STOP EATING FISH. Most of the plastic in the ocean is from discarded fishing nets

Not really sure what kind of forks you have, but mine don't taste bad. Same goes for my metal straws. Then get spare paper ones? Not sure what you want me to say here. The removal of plastic straws is for the betterment of the planet, and I'm OK with paper and metal to that end
Btw, not trying to seem like this as an attack, I know it's not the convenient, or even optional especially for those with disabilities like the OP mentioned, but I think we should always try to find better solutions for the sake of the planet.
