Passed through some makeup counters this morning (no makeup on) and it's amazing how people treat you when you have nothing on your face. I think makeup technicians in stores should always open with a question about how much experience you have with makeup. :>

I almost always go makeup shopping without makeup, explicitly to try and colourmatch shit to my current skin tone... Usually I have to almost force them to help me because idk, my non-made face makes them think I'm not actually buying/interested or smthn???? lol

Oh man, you can't win. I guess it can't be helped, you can't have an expert working in stores suggesting things, but I dunno. I feel like they're giving really bad advice.

The first time I went to Sephora without makeup on they treated me like I don't belong there and it felt like they are thinking I am wasting their time
So now I just greet them in english (usually they don't speak english very well) so they leave me alone. -

One time I walked in a Sally beauty to buy my MOM some bleach for highlights, my hair was up in a bun, blonde & messy. the lady at the counter looked at my hair & said ‘ you can’t dye THAT ‘ and I explained myself & never will I ever forget how much of a jackass she made me feel.
