Strange question, does it go away if you switch from full-screen to windowed? Also is it laggy as not responding or moving laggy?

If that fixed it, and you have windows 10 the real cause may be windows defender

One of my Guildes is a QA on the sims team. I’ll ask.

So she asked a dev and they said “Check your settings if you have MouseTrails on and if you do, turn them off. As an alternative, change to windowed or full windowed mode ^that would be in the mouse settings specifically, not our game's settings. Also check the mouse drivers.”

mu cousin has often either lags or black screen after origin updates itself. And clearing origin cache always helped. Try it, although I'm not sure if this is the case as well.https://answers.ea.com/t5/Origin-Client-Web-Technical/How-do-I-clean-the-Origin-cache-files/td-p/4701923 …
