I've always put my jam in the fridge. After I open anything, I put it in the fridge. 
it literally advises it on the packaging!

Sugar is a natural preservative
traditional jams last months in the pantry. Maybe it’s because I’m from a big family, but the only one you actually need refrigerate after opening is the sugar-free jams!
Jam was invented to preserve fruit when fridges weren’t a thing! -
