I'm salty about this. 
I tried to justify the lack of EV and IVs with - it's a remake of pokemon yellow, but there's shinies and mega.. Do you think pokemon will get simplified down in the future generations?

There’s still IVs in the game! They changed EVs to something called “Awakened Values” though which is the same but just less limited... we’re already confirmed to go back to our regular gameplay for the future too, so nothing to worry about
