You can mute certain people. It's not like blocking but it blocks them from your timeline It helped me a lot to not see someone who only used me while pretending to be a friend!

Definitely recommend muting but also adding their username to your muted words list will prevent you from seeing "mutual friends liked this garbage person's tweet" all the time. Best feature ever.
