But you seem to be agreeing with me? My point exactly is that twitch is not rewarding hard working streamers, they just reward "everyone". If you actually read my tweets, you'll see I am trying to help explain why some partners may seem annoyed with the affiliate program.

I agree ONLY with the first paragraph. I think the opportunity to monetize your content, even early on is a great feature and I certainly do not feel annoyed by the affiliate program.

No, but affiliates should be annoyed, I know so many hard working streamers who deserve affiliate, but their achievement of affiliate is overshadowed by the fact its literally given to everyone & anyone. I know hundreds of affiliates who have expressed this to me.

And I know many who have expressed pride and joy to be an affiliate. Looks like you're trying to speak on behalf of many again. Again, I will say though, my dislike is that you mentioned partners feel like the gap is being closed between them and affiliates, and that (1)

we apparently feel like it's devaluing our hard work. I don't feel bothered by that at all :) I just want to clarify not all of us feel that way, that's all.

That's fair enough, next time I will be more careful when it comes to the opinions of "some partners", I used the word "partners" in general, I was most definitely not speaking for all partners.

Ok, that's why I made the tweet. A lot of the points you raised don't bother me at all and I like to see affiliates getting all the little successes they can.

All of this makes it sound they're only just introducing the affiliate scheme. Twitch are simply paying affiliates quicker (and giving people a channel badge instead of the standard star). They've been able to earn money for a while so it does seem weird people are "kicking off"!

I think the main reason some partners are so annoyed is because the differences between partnership & affiliate seems to be getting smaller. This would not annoy partners if the affiliate program wasn't so devalued due to the extremely low requirements & mass roll out.

I'd definitely disagree with you statement of not being proud of it, since becoming an affiliate at the start of the program last year I've been incredibly proud to be a part of the community

I think it's fair to say all people feel their own way about it, whether pride or no, and that's fair enough. Glad to see how much work you put into it personally Steve, and I look forward to you pulling through as a partner. No doubt you will.
