Do I actually offend someone (in the USA) if I start packing my own bags at a grocery store, rather than having a "bagger" do it? The concept of having someone else do it is very foreign to me...but so far, they did not seem thrilled whenever I did it myself. #foreignerquestion
I almost always bag my own. I usually get thankful appreciation. I'm usually going to Trader Joe's, Sprouts, or Mother's Market for groceries. If there is a specific bagger person there too I usually let them bag though.
