Speaking as a former Twitch staff, not only is this absolutely disgusting, but it is 100% in violation of Amazon Business Conduct & Ethics Policy. Not Train's fault (it's not his job to police the ethics of Twitch), but absolutely the employee's for asking/accepting payment.

With Poki also announcing a more non-exclusive approach, you can mark 2022 as a pretty big pivot point in the streaming industry. I’m certain many creators will watch to see how this pans out.. my guess is it will be big for both of them.

If a platform really wanted to see creators succeed, they would allow creators to monetize without exclusivity. It’s hard to see how that could be bad for a creator or a platform. If they did that, more creators could go this route, instead of just those at the very top.

The other interesting aspect to this is “the bag”. Ninja has secured quite a few. Compared to even 5 years ago, there are 25x more LARGE creators, but the same amount of “bags”. That ratio is only going to get worse.

I expect this is the start if more creators going the “unchained” route. Especially for creators who are well established. I have to applaud Tyler for taking a pretty big leap with this approach.

After finally getting my hands on a Steam Deck and putting in about 25 hours… I’m impressed. The screen is beautiful, it fits well in my hands, and access to my Steam library is seamless. I can’t speak to battery yet because I haven’t traveled much, but that’s next!

I’m sad, I’m shook, I’m devastated. Kevin’s smile and positivity was able to pull you out of the worst of days. During my final weeks at Twitch, Kevin was an incredible pillar of support who would drop everything to take the time to chat. He was a one in a million human.

For those who had the privilege of knowing him, they knew Kevin as a friend through work, through games, or through good wine (and almost always all three). Kevin joined Riot in June as the Global Head of Community Management after most recently serving as the Director of Community Partnerships at Twitch, where we had the honor of getting to know him, work with him, and become friends. Kevin brought enthusiasm and a bright spirit everywhere he went, and it is a comfort to know that so many of you got to know him over these past several years. His passion for community and his love of mentoring others was a huge boost to every community he served. This leaves an immeasurable loss. As he was also a deeply loved son and brother, our hearts are with his family during this difficult time.
