That's not a controversial angle or take to present.
The response has been very aggressive to a mundane take.
Furthermore, IT'S NOT NEWS. IT WAS AN OPINION.
Not every opinion needs a reaction or response made.
The response to the backward-compatible hurdles video illustrates that having a basic conversation of contrasting views is near impossible in the gaming sphere.
No one said it would not be BC. Or that it cannot be BC. One simply said there are issues that need to be addressed.
It's beyond silly.
Had BC being a certainty been the opinion relayed, the response would have been silent.
SHOULD it be back-compat? Yes.
WILL it? At this moment in time, no one can say with any certainty one way or the other.
The concept isn't even known. It's assumed.
The entire discussion and "debate" over whether the successor of the Nintendo Switch will or will not have backwards compatibility is such a vapid and inane topic of conversation at this point in time.
An opinion over some tech hurdles invoking such strong reactions...
Keep forgetting PAX East is in a few weeks.
Nintendo's presence remains a mystery -- though I doubt TotK makes any showing there. Maybe Advance Wars or Bayonetta Origins?
Anything else of note been shared?
Have the visuals of Metroid Prime Remastered relaxed any fear you may have had for Metroid Prime 4?
Retro always delivers and they delivered the goods with Metroid Prime Remastered.
When Sony & other publishers moved over to $70 games, people spoke out against it & were vocal about their displeasure.
Will we see similar action? Or has the gaming base grown accustomed to $70 pricing for software?
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is priced at $69.99 according to eShop https://nintendo.com/store/products/the-legend-of-zelda-tears-of-the-kingdom-switch/…
Tesco is getting out of the game software and hardware selling business. They are looking to clear stock.
Other notable non-Switch hardware discounts:
Yoshi Crafted World - £3.75
Xbox Series X - £225
Xbox Series S - £100
GoW Ragnarok - £31.50 PS5
GoW Ragnarok - £27.50 PS4

Just received an employee care package from Wanted: Dead & it's one of the most unique & impressive press kits I've seen. It showcases the game's humor & personality.

There's a gulf of difference between production and forecast numbers.
The Bloomberg article cited weak pre-orders leading to Sony to alter their internal projections by half. Sony's statement from today says they are not cutting production.
All about wording.
Sony has denied it is cutting PSVR 2 production numbers, following a report from Bloomberg https://gamesindustry.biz/sony-we-have-not-cut-ps-vr-2-production-numbers…
The high price has been a deterrent for many.
One must also consider Sony's history of not providing meaningful long-term support for such secondary products -- of which include the PS Vita, PSVR1, EyeToy, & PS Move.
Lack of commitment leads to lack of public interest.
Exclusive: PSVR2's pre-order not that strong. Analysts say Sony's not serious about VR efforts and PSVR2 is just to keep footprints in the industry in case the gadget category becomes a huge deal in the future.

These three companies have been doing their own thing for several years now & the need for E3 has diminished.
June remains a pivotal point to relay information; but the venue & timing is curated by console manufacturer.
If a "leaked" Nintendo Direct lineup is posted and it contains no third-party games & 9(!) Nintendo games... it's not leak. It's not a rumor.
It's a wishlist... and that's being generous. Every random forum post doesn't need to become a talking point.
The Xbox Developer_Direct was one of the better shows Microsoft has put on in recent years. Showed the games in a strong light; but the lack of a Forza release date dampens to overall feel of the show.
Hi-Fi Rush was a pleasant surprise and looks great.
Can't show growth when one releases no games.
Hopefully, tomorrow's Xbox Developer Direct begins to show forward momentum for Xbox studios. 2023 needs big releases & Forza, Redfall, and Starfield must set the tone for 2023.
Microsoft's Q2, 2023 earnings are out:
Xbox hardware revenue down 13%
Gaming down 13%, Xbox content + services down 12%
63.2 million Microsoft 365 consumer subscribers
Windows OEM revenue down 39% and devices down 39%

An important thing to keep in mind in regard to the 10,000-layoff figure being report at Microsoft, 343, Bethesda, Coalition, etc: these are people. People who have families. People who are now burdened with uncertainty.
Don't turn the conversation into a console war.
Games sell well & underperform due to unrealistic internal projections. It's not due to competition of other game releases.
It's often due to the company setting high expectations & failing to reach an unrealistic target.
Mario Rabbids 2 sold well & will continue to do so.
Seen talk of a Nintendo hardware patent being used as proof of new hardware coming soon.
The patent in question is for the Switch OLED -- specifically the speakers.
Public patents are for products that have already released or scrapped ideas. Rarely for unannounced products.
Fantastic to see Sony offer a customizable accessibility controller, which allow more individuals to game & have fun.
Microsoft, Sony & other partners have been paving the way for accessibility features in games for years & now each offer a controller.
It's now Nintendo's turn
Introducing Project Leonardo for PS5, a highly customizable accessibility controller kit designed to help players with disabilities play more easily, more comfortably, and for longer periods.

With expectation of a Microsoft event in the coming weeks, it's natural to wonder if they'll detail their first-half lineup to completion. Redfall is reportedly coming in May. Forza & Starfield remain TBD.
When will Starfield launch for Xbox Series X|S?
And there it is.
The Fable rumor of a cancellation and engine swap was nothing more than a fable, itself.
Keep in mind: this doesn't mean the game is nearly finished or nearing release. Much work remains to be done. Ideally, we see and hear an update in the near future.
A friendly PSA: If you receive an email titled 'Collaboration offer: Silksong', please know that the offer/email is a fake & a scam.
They have been contacting content creators for several weeks offering early Hollow Knight Silksong coverage opportunities.
Happy holidays to all. Have a safe, healthy, and happy new year.
I'll be attending a Christmas party in LA at the Nakatomi Plaza complex this evening. It will surely be a blast.
Ho-Ho-Ho.
These comments bring me joy. You make baseless assumptions due to my refusal to appear on camera & default to the weakest argument one can make: that I must be ugly or unattractive.
I'll let you live in that illusion.
High on Life has been a delightful surprise -- in my experience. While the humor may not appeal to everyone, I have found the gameplay to be engaging & satisfying.
It feels like Metroid Prime with a dash of Ratchet & Clank and a sprinkle of Doom.
A worthwhile play, for sure.
High on Life is a fine game -- if the style of humor appeals to you.
But it's far from a replacement of AAA exclusives. Games like High on Life have value in a software library; but they are not (nor should they be) replacements for higher budget exclusives from MS-owned studios
Games like High on Life make me realise that Xbox doesn't need an exclusive every month or two to compete with Sony.
Sure, having some exclusives this year would have been great, but getting games like this at day one on game pass is a huge W.
The legacy of the PSP is being felt & recognized this month, as Final Fantasy 7: Crisis Core and Valkyrie Profile Lenneth see release on modern platforms.
Square Enix strongly supported the PSP & made RPG classics. It's nice to see a select few see wider release in 2022.
