Process delays aren’t the entirely of the story...but they’re a large part, and all of the purity posturing about limiting what type of housing should get built...is not getting any housing built.

These are 100% affordable, all-electric (carbon-neutral ready!) multi family buildings that would provide safe & healthy homes to 100s of families. It shouldn’t take at least 4-5 years of process to just barely get to a point where construction can start.

This is going to be spicy in SF. 🙏🏽 it makes it. Almost all the affordable housing projects we’re working on in my office are on hold, or are going on hold, as the process delays have caused a major funding challenges. Time delays = $$$$$

This is so on-brand for everybody I’m over here like...🤣 Pete: thirsty, aggressive & a bit entitled Bernie: unsubstantiated promises Warren: let’s gather all the data & see what that tells us before we do anything rash

Looks to be a tight 3-way race in . Let's see how those 3 candidates responded: 1) Mayor Pete: Declare victory with no data reported just hubris & entitlement. 2) Sen Sanders: Release unverified data that you collected to the public as if it is fact. 3) Sen Warren:

Thread and yes. It's a terrible soundbite, but the fact is that when lots of rich people move to your city, it's better to build housing for rich people than no housing at all.

Faith in our American institutions is at an all-time low. The fact that GOP senators are covering up the President’s corruption with a sham impeachment trial without witnesses & documents doesn’t help. History will judge us for what happens next.

The defeat of is a victory for segregationists and climate denial. Tenant advocacy groups did not kill the bill, the homeowner lobby did. The solutions to our housing crisis lie in robust tenant protections and dramatic densification — yes, BOTH.

Wealthy, exclusionary neighborhoods co-opting the language & legit fears of vulnerable communities is the most maddening part of the housing discourse in California.

Car-free streets are still such a foreign concept in the U.S. NYC & SF have started to shift the convo, but still only in wealthy areas. I dream of the day where black & brown majority nhoods and communities can have access to this & its driven by their visions for mobility.
