Sen. @ConnieMLeyva does Wiener a solid by asking him to delineate tenant protections and affordable housing in the bill. (Bill has an affordability set aside for projects bigger than 10 units and says you can’t tear down a building where tenants have lived in the prior 7 years.)

Sen. @BenAllenCA of Santa Monica says he’s also concerned about the bill’s affordability provisions and brings up that it might affect historic preservation zones.

Sen. Pat Bates, a Republican from SD/OC, says she’s gotten 1500 emails on the bill recently. She’s a no citing local control concerns.

Sen. Lena Gonzalez, a Democrat from Long Beach, says she’s going to support to continue conversation. Wiener now giving his closing argument.
