The 2017 tax cut reduced the MID among others on the federal level. California has its own version for state taxes.

The biggest problem with California is not that taxes are too low. SF for example has over $150,000 in taxes, fees and mandates per unit of housing constructed. Increases in taxes are simply passed on to renters. We need to look at policy of states that do not have our problems.

eh. no. you don't get to deduct your income taxes from the sales tax you pay at the grocery store. "you can't tax the same dollar twice" is a nonsense right wing talking point
