I'd pledged this account is only for lab/science. But science is tied to other sociopolitical issues. O/of despair, for that infamous healing effect of social net disclosures, or in hope that if I speak up there'll be ripple, maybe a change, here me again lamenting about visa 1/12

Really proud of this work I did with and ! We found that lapses aren't just attentional "blinks" or motor "slips" but reflect exploration and changes in value following behavioral/neural manipulations!

In any event, this call to decolonize Maunakea and the Decolonising Science Reading List, which is stuff I was prompted to read and felt I could recommend in the wake of the protectors' efforts, will always be tied to each other.

I’m pleased to share my new paper, wherein we sought to understand how the activity of individual neurons link up to networks distributed across the cortex, and how information can be dynamically routed in the brain:

Gender disparities exists in many aspects of science: a fact. The question--or argument--is why. Many causes have been proposed. Almost all of them are non-mutually exclusive, and many of them are difficult if not impossible to separate. /1

Applying Prospect Theory to rats making risky choices, we find rats show probability distortion, diminishing marginal sensitivity, reference dependence, and loss aversion. New manuscript from Christine Constantinople (starting a lab at NYU) and

A single offhand remark can sting, but it’s hard to know if it’s intentional, and I usually don’t call these things out because I don’t want to be accused of overreacting. But over the course of years it’s death by a thousand cuts.
