Calm down everyone. Good chance mortality is lower than 3% . “Mild cases don’t go to hospital and there’s many cases that remain to be confirmed [as] labs struggle to keep up with testing” Overseas cases should provide clearer picture soon

Just like Kate Winslet in Contagion, ’s explains Ro. “Because it’s above 1 ... we know it can cause sustained transmission in humans. Just because the number is high doesn’t mean it’s going to cause a massive pandemic.”

The idea that India is doing its Muslim citizens some kind of favor by allowing them to marry non-Muslims, or do well in their careers, is preposterous. That an ostensibly educated person speaks this way shows how far India is from modern conceptions of citizenship and equality.

There is a service called Dunzo in Bengaluru. An operating income of Rs 76 lakh on losses of Rs 169 crore. Might as well distribute money directly. Will help the economy more :-) Someone should write a book, Of Bengaluru and No Business Models -- The Story of 2000s.

Ten years ago Ivy academics/political economists talked favorably of India political risk compared to China. Wonder if that’s going to change with India’s current trajectory.

I know we’re all supposed to hate billionaires on here, but I’m genuinely pumped thinking about a Michael Bloomberg presidency. Electrical engineering degree, experienced mayor, successful business man, and clean energy has been his main issue for years? Cmon, this is my dude.

India's new citizenship law is just the latest evidence that under PM Narendra Modi, the country is departing from its founding principles as a secular, open democracy, says opposition MP . See our full conversation on GPS, @ 10am & 1pm ET Sunday on

Quite obvious urbanization is a necessary condition for development. Yet Indian politicians keep hankering for repopulation of remote abandoned villages (e.g. Uttarakhand). In situ development not feasible.
