Yeah, there’s definitely “falsely advertised 3G” and “true 3G”. Probably difficult to find comprehensive cross-carrier data, but some projects have apps where people self-report. One was out of a lab at University of Michigan, IIRC.
My point specifically is, are we at the point (in the US) where we even need to worry about that band of users? Are we at the point yet like when tipped beyond worrying about users no longer using ISDN lines.

Everyone with full bars of 4G… at a stadium, busy train station, airport, etc. That’s what the umich lab focused on.
Also, in general, focusing only on US as an audience just perpetuates crappy experiences for all.
