I usually don’t point to anything hosted on Medium, but I let one slip through earlier today. Ugh.

What's your beef with Medium? Was thinking of hosting future posts there, but now I'm wondering if I should question that decision.

I don't like when all of the internet is rolled up under one for-profit website that controls how we are allowed to express ourselves. That's not a web, that's a silo. It smells a lot like Facebook.

Yep. Medium is just another platform ready to mediate your writing to readers, advertisers, and investors. We post our blog posts on there. Not happy about it, but...

Yeah, I find it baffling that brands are so willing to hand over their communication tools and attention infrastructure to a 3rd party company.

But we have sophisticated metrics tools and make data-driven decisions. We’re not flying blind in choosing Medium for Mozilla’s posts, right? More conversions, higher engagement, etc, right? I hope?
