@jennschiffer Hi! I’m trying to track down why this @glitch example for Twitter Passport oauth from you and Gareth is broken in Firefox. Works fine in Chrome, Safari. Any ideas? https://twitter-passport-example.glitch.me/

Yah, looks like all the oauth flow works fine, until checking the referrer before setting the cookie… no referrer. I tested in a new profile, thinking my phalanx of anti-tracking stuff was the problem, but nope.

Tested Firefox 52esr, doesn’t work - so it’s not a recent change in Firefox. Asked some of our sec folks about differences in referrer handling across origins between us and Chrome/Safari… shouldn’t be any problems there after looking through the Express source. Still digging!

RAD, it works

thanks very much. Yeah, didn’t look like referrer was actually required there.
I think I narrowed it down to Firefox dropping referrer after the redirect from Twitter. Filed a bug:https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1454022 …2 replies 0 retweets 1 like
