If you love the web, use the PWA version of any app, when available. It's the "vote with your wallet" of application platforms.
App manifests with mode=standalone, so pwa has app-like experience from user perspective.

I think there's a cognitive switch that flips for devs (and up the chain) once something can be unbrowsered. For now, that's important.
