Amazon. Again. Global pandemic is a windfall for them. Don’t feed their greed.https://twitter.com/lifewinning/status/1240260780358066176 …

I'd like to avoid them. But. On some items I needed a few days ago: Leroy-Merlin gets you delivered within 3 business weeks, in store or at home. Next day at home delivery for Amazon.

I fixed that in two ways: 1. Plan ahead and buy enough in advance from less shitty companies 2. Go without Mostly I just ended up redefining "need" to avoid giving any more money to Amazon. The list of terrible things just got too long, years ago. It was actually easy to do!

You cannot always do (1), sadly. And for (2) I am really forcing myself to avoid them at all cost, even when it means it's more expensive and less convenient. But even this way, the alternatives often makes you regret giving them money.

Because their website is so well designed it takes you 20 min to find what you want when it would have been 30 secs. Because they make it a pain to handle delivery / pickup. Because they lie on stocks.

Yes, Amazon-free living is not perfect. It's true.

I've been practicing that for years, so I have some opinion :-)

I'm interested in setting up anti-Amazon buying co-ops... but I keep running out of time in the day.
