Adblocker is my shorthand for "thing that blocks user-hostile crap" not necessarily any type of advertising at all

i switched to firefox recently and turned on containering and other trackerblocking and am surprised how often i have to jump back to my unprotected chrome profile to do standard stuff.

Yes! That's my original point. Surveillance is so engrained that huge swaths of the web are broken when it's not enabled. And designers and developers build/test in Chrome with defaults, no tracking protection.
