In-browser searching in Chrome's address bar is woefully inferior to Firefox's. It fails to yield hits on items I know Chrome is aware of. It feels like the feature is intentionally kneecapped in order to send more users to Google search to generate $$$.

In Firefox's Awesome Bar, I can plug in search terms and find relevant hits from my browsing history from months ago. With Chrome, it often fails to find pages I visited 10 minutes ago. It is a night and day difference.

IIRC Mike Connor and Seth Spitzer designed the initial algo. I'm not sure if much/any of Google's code survived into the sorting stuff. After that I was just feeding and watering the people who made it great - Mak, Asaf, Sdwilsh, Mardak, probably more.
