I mean, most of the existing mechanisms would work, e.g. you add someone to one of your mastodon channels by @ mentioning their mastodon name, I don't underestimate the eng work to achieve this, but how often to opportunities like this come along?

And it could be done through the existing slack groups people have set up, where they have already included their colleagues/friends. The admin decides to turn it on, and the people on that (and other) slack channels have to subscribe to close the deal.

I already use slack for multiple entities, so it's right there. I could have multiple mastodon channels (linux folks, gamers, personal) and it gives people a valuable reason to pony up the subscription

Someone else must have had this idea already, but say, slack gets in to the mastodon space (as a premium option for, ooo, $8 a month) and provides you with a section of federated mastodon channels

To give a bit more context, Tony's Roadhouse was the reason I first got into podcasting! There would have been no Java Posse without and the Roadhouse!

End of an era. We were a few episodes behind but just listened to the very last episode of the Roadhouse Podcast. Thanks to for all the work choosing some of the best blues I ever heard over the past 17 years, and now we have to find something else for pizza making

One of the first things you learn in security and social engineering is that people will believe a lie for two main reasons, they want it to be true, or they are afraid it might be true. If you aren't sure, please seek the facts and evidence before passing along disinformation.

I guess technically there were two songs I didn't know by heart, so a lawyer could argue that the title is correct :-), of course I know them by heart now...

I love the new Buffett album, but in defiance of the title, I actually knew all but two of the songs by heart already :-)

35 years on, Iron Maiden's Live After Death album holds up remarkably well in energy, musicianship and recording fidelity for a live album. Probably my fave live album of all time.

Dick's hypothesis of ELO: the universe is a better place for Jeff Lynne and ELO. Supporting Evidence: every day I hear an ELO song gets that bit better. Also Google for dogs that look like Jeff Lynne :-)
