one time after ATX Haskell meetup, we were out at a coffee shop doing the post-meetup chitchat, always enjoyable. there was this one who, ok, i hadn't ever liked the way he treated me -- he was in my section of the meetups, where i was teaching haskell.

the guy starts complaining about how a certain notorious FPer is "abusive" because they tweet a lot of hyperbole about how awful Scala is and no one should use Scala and it's "abusive" to people who write Scala.

I'm to this day still disappointed with how people treat and talk about Tony. His actions are not always easy for me to defend, but I have a really hard time with other people taking such a moral high ground.

Re history: a lot less abuse; mostly from mgsloan (it's pretty gross) and a little from Chris. Way way way way way more *whoosh* though. Oh well, beginners will have to suck it up.
