Seems like a terrible insult to invoke comparisons with Java :) but that aside... We are talking build systems here how is my previous suggestion "promote better alternatives" not an equally likely to succeed strategy?

You literally have someone who you sat across from and who looked to you to teach him say "you made me feel like shit" and you're saying you are okay with that?

I didn't make that happen. Stack did. And no, I am not ok with stack.

He asked a question in your class and the words coming out of your mouth in response elicited that feeling... How can none of that be on you?

Yes, I accept some responsibility for not making it very fucking clear. DO NOT USE STACK. I hope I have redeemed myself.

You have made that clear. Of that there is no doubt. I don't think I'll get through to you that some people have "feels" and that you might consider them occasionally... We can agree to disagree on that. But where is the technical basis to justify this level of hate?

The stack-related political movement has done more social damage and regress than I could ever do, even if I tried. Please do not assume that I do not consider others' feelings. It's an unreasonable and somewhat gross assumption.

I only base that of your replies to this thread of conversation. You've said that 1) you feel no responsibility that someone felt bad about the scolding you gave them 2) you won't play the "my feelings are blah" game with me

1) I feel a responsibility, and I have since responded appropriately. Do I need to say it again? 2) That's because I don't play the political game that is destroying discourse. I parody it.

You don't need to apologise to him again, but I ask you to consider that there could be others who feel the same but don't feel comfortable saying so to you directly? I definitely don't... But here we are anyway
