I started off with CIS194 and stack seemed to work no problems, and IntelliJ + Haskell pluging could import my project which was nice for someone used to having an IDE. I can't get the NICTA course to build :(
@Oenotria What you are being told here is incorrect. If you are interested in learning, there are many people waiting to help you.

I haven't paid you any money so you don't owe me anything. That said, if you are genuinely interested in helping people learn haskell then you need to accept people might want to use familiar tools. Thanks for merging

If you're in fact a beginner and are genuinely interested in learning it seems odd to me that you'd get hung up on a tooling choice rather than trusting the course instructor's experience regarding which tooling works best. Learning something new implies exploring the unfamiliar!
