fwiw, pretty-show is a nice example of a package that breaks stack. stack gives no useful error information (like: this is not supported) while cabal new-build builds this flawlessly http://hackage.haskell.org/package/pretty-show …

Can you please define "doesn't work"? We use it in our company, so it seems to work on my machine, on all of my colleagues machines, on out CI, CD... I am not entirely happy with it, but it's not that "it doesn't work"...
