Like, you need libraries that aren't on stackage? Or what? extra-deps and or the "packages" field don't work for this?
Stack is "good for teaching" in the same way that python is good for teaching FP, because it has map. I admit; I don't want my students in the bubble of mediocrity, but I am otherwise not making an argument. In fact, I refuse to.

Without arguments, there is no discussion. And it's perfectly fine, it's your choice. But I fail to see your position, since Stack has worked wonderfully for me until now. Probably I'm not an advanced user like you, but it helped me a lot and seems to me a decent foundation.

I am, however, making a slightly better argument that that made for the benefits of stack. As soon as we start getting concrete, it turns to shit, every time, including this time.
