      "blah happened before bleh [but we missed that]" is caused by using variables, 100% of the time. Also, if you do not use variables, there cannot possibly be such a thing.

      No. Let me make a strong claim. 1. I have not used a variable in 15 years. 2. I have not had this class of error in that time. 3. I will never have this class of error for as long as I continue not using variables. Someone used a variable.

          Sure, you could write proofs that passwords don't get logged. That'd be great. That's a way weaker claim than not using variables automatically makes it impossible to accidentally log passwords (it doesn't).
