Where can I read some arguments on why FP and OOP are not orthogonal? I believe they are.

With this crowd, you have to establish what even an OO is first. If you end up with a fixed point on record types, then we'd recommend other variants of ADTs to simplify your work. If you call OO something else, certainly if vague, you will likely find frustration.
