A monoid is a pipeline of functions. e.g. cat x | sort | uniq ; or F(G(H(x))). A monad is a monoid with smart pipes.

Well, I took a poll of "things pipes can't do", and then made pipes do them. https://github.com/dakami/ynomad Anything I should add? Totally being intellectually honest here. I should hit some sort of wall if I'm wrong. ARE you saying Oleg is wrong?
