So at one of the kids sports last week a group of boys were being dickheads and calling each other, and others faggots, I didn't pull them up on it, I don't know how in a measured productive way to do it.

Heh, I have done similar, on a train. I started calling them heterosexuals. They stopped immediately, but I think for other reasons.
